Tor Vergata and Qatar University together in the name of Research and Didactics

An agreement was signed at Palazzo Madama, seat of the Italian Senate, on the occasion of the Emir of Qatar’s visit to Italy

The University of Rome Tor Vergata and the University of Qatar have recently made a cultural and scientific agreement for the areas of Business, Engineering, Humanities, Law, Science and Medicine. The meeting for the signature of the Rector of the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Giuseppe Novelli and the President of the University of Qatar, Rashid Hassan Al- Derham, was held at the Senate in the presence of the Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.

The three-year long Agreement – renewable for an additional three-year term - will activate research and didactic collaborations through the exchange of experts, professors, students and scientific staff of both universities, the sharing of information and scientific publications and the definition of joint study programmes. Moreover, study meetings, seminars and courses in fields of common interest will be organized as provided for in the Agreement.

This collaboration falls into the agenda of meetings that kept the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al- Thani, busy during those days in Rome with the launching of joint initiatives with our country in the economic, cultural and scientific sphere.

"The new partnership - stresses prof. Giuseppe Novelli- is another result in the internationalization process started by our University. The collaboration with the University of Qatar, young and dynamic university always prone to launch development programmes with other institutions and universities, is for us a tool to further strengthen our international dimension".
