Nobel Prize Laureate in Chemistry 2004 at Tor Vergata

On 21th February the University of Rome Tor Vergata had the honour of welcoming the Nobel Prize Laureate in Chemistry 2004 Aaron Ciechanover, who held a keynote address entitled ‘Intracellular Protein Degradation: From a Vague Idea through the Lysosome and the Ubiquitin-Proteasome System and onto Human Diseases and Drug Targeting’. The event was organised with the support of the Department of Experimental Medicine and Surgery and the Department of Chemical and Technological Sciences and hosted in the Fleming Room of the School of Medicine and Surgery. After his keynote speech Professor Ciechanover was awarded the title of Distinguished Professor. At the end of the ceremony the Nobel Laureate met University and PhD students.
