Vulcanus in Japan

The Programme is designed to improve the industrial cooperation between Japan and the European Union offering European students internship opportunities in a leading Japanese company.

Selected students will take part in:
a. a one-week seminar in Japan;
b. an intensive, four-month Japanese course;
c. an eight-month internship in a Japanese company;
The programme is open to EU students enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in technical or scientific courses (Engineering, Computer Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Physics etc.).
Depending on the single university regulations, students must be duly enrolled and can spend a year abroad as part of their curriculum or as a sabbatical.
The programme starts every year in September and ends in August of the following year.
European students are awarded a grant (15,000 Euros) to cover the cost of travel to and from Japan and living expenses in Japan.
Accommodation is provided by the host company for twelve months.
The language course and the seminar are financed by the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation.
