"Tor Vergata" calls Business...with two yearly Career Days: “Tor Vergata” holds two important events a year in order for the professional workplace and University students and graduates to meet. They are the University-Work Forum organised by Alitur, i.e. an Association of former Engineering students, and Campus&Leaders&Talents set up by Desk Imprese and Associazione Laureati Economia Tor Vergata - Alet (Association of Tor Vergata Economics Graduates). These two events are held each year respectively in April and October, and have become a reference point for companies seeking talent. The success of both initiatives is proven by the growing number of businesses and students attending such career days every year.

‘Videomaking TV - 2014 Edition’ Award: an initiative dedicated to all students enrolled at “Tor Vergata” to describe their University, their present and the future awaiting them through the videomaking technique.
Mathematical Olympiad: thanks to an agreement between the Ministry of Education, University and Research and Unione Matematica Italiana, every year the University of Rome Tor Vergata organises a competition for High Schools at the Department of Mathematics in cooperation with La Sapienza and Roma3. The competitions end with Italian team taking part in the International Mathematical Olympiad (https://www.mat.uniroma2.it/~olimpiad/ediz-preced.html).
Uncovering Excellence: a call by "Tor Vergata" to support the best minds by ‘uncovering excellence’. An unprecedented initiative was hence promoted, allocating a total funding of € 500,000.00 to researchers for ‘University research projects of local, national or international interest’ characterized by strongly innovative contents. For the first time the allocation of funding for university scientific research was carried out via a process of external audit to ensure impartiality and objectivity. The expert panel evaluating the projects was selected by ANVUR.
Consolidate the Foundations: To testify to ”Tor Vergata”’s commitment to support research, the call "Consolidating the Foundations" is being worked on. With a budget of € 1,000,000 it will fund competitive projects to develop selected initiatives with high scientific and technological content. An evaluation by external auditors will be carried out basing on scientific excellence and the innovative strength of the idea.
Cycle of initiatives ‘Zero INdifference’: promoted by the Caris Commission for the implementation of Act No 104 of 1992 - Disability Service and by the Committee for University Social Responsibility in order to raise awareness among students on issues such as disability, inclusion and social interaction.
Sustainable economy experiments with ‘Workshops for the New Economy’ and the Ethical Cash Mob initiatives promoted by the Macroarea of Economics and organised by students to raise awareness within the university community and the general public towards a new way of doing business.
The Solidarity Medicine project, which deals with the health and social integration of Italian and foreign citizens who are socially fragile and live in poverty. It operates experimenting support, enhancing the professional training of teachers and students and at the same time providing an innovative social and health service to local areas.
The Vivarium Novum Academia, which aims at developing a great world humanism Campus in the University Representation Centre (Villa Mondragone): a European excellence pole specialized in Humanities in cooperation with prestigious universities and major research institutions.
