Fulbright Program

Programme of cultural exchanges between Italy and the U.S. granting scholarships financed by the two partner countries
The Fulbright Program is the flagship U.S. programme for international cultural exchanges. The Program applies to over 155 countries worldwide. Over the last 60 years approximately 294,000 participants have been awarded Fulbright scholarships for university, research or teaching courses in the U.S. and in partner countries. Every year about 7,500 Fulbright scholarships are granted worldwide.
The Fulbright Program is sponsored by the United States Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and by partner countries governments.
The Fulbright Program has been active in Italy since 1948, when the first agreement between the Government of the United States and the Italian Government was signed and the Committee on Cultural Exchanges between Italy and the United States (The U.S. - Italy Fulbright Commission) was established.
