Description and Teaching Objectives
This Degree is designed to meet the requirements of students interested in a training course focused on European studies. Its interdisciplinary approach provides a broad viewpoint on economic and legal issues of international scope.
It aims at preparing graduates able to operate with extensive expertise in managing and operating European institutions. It deals with specialised economic, legal, business, political and historical notions. It provides basic tools and interpretative models to become acquainted with institutional systems and their relevant partners (companies, Public Administration, national and international institutions) for a deeper understanding of the political decision-making and regulatory processes in place.
This Degree is designed for graduates in Economics, Law, Political Science or Humanities. In order to deepen their quantitative skills, the programme includes three weeks of mandatory prerequisite classes for students with no background in Economics. Such prerequisites cover the following disciplines: Mathematics, Statistics, Micro and Macro Economics.
In order to develop targeted problem-solving skills - which are more and more important when aiming at ‘creative’, high added-value positions in our global society - students are involved in a wide range of tasks including group work and internships.
In particular, this Degree enjoys exclusive agreements with major institutions and international companies for curricular internships. Active agreements include: the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), British Embassy, Embassy of Denmark, GUCCI, IKEA, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Findus.
University relationship with and attention to students represent a further key aspect. The faculty regularly meet students to check on their progress and academic tutors are always available too. The programme also offers a series of further services: grants, University residencies, student card with discounts for restaurants and public transport, photocopy card, Italian classes and healthcare for foreign students, hospitality and orientation services.
