Tor Vergata University of Rome offers 7 places to enrolled students to spend 5 days in the Swedish University of Lulea!
The Blended Intensive Program project is founded by ERASMUS+ and students from Tor Vergata University of Rome will have a scholarship to cover the costs related to the short-term physical mobility.
All students enrolled in a bachelor, master, single cycle or PhD for the academic year 2024-2025 are eligible for the scholarship.
• Environment and society in the changing Arctic. The Arctic Five collaboration.
• Polar atmosphere and its significance for solar-terrestrial interactions, space weather.
• Auroral physics and observations.
• Optical phenomena in the polar regions.
• Snow and ice in different perspectives.
• Arctic climate systems and climate change.
• Nano satellites, rockets and balloons for polar research.
• Survival in the cold environment.
• Space product innovation.
• Language studies: terminology for New Space and polar research.
• Linguistic aspect of intercultural communication.
Each participant will receive an attendance certificate. The course workload is 3 ECTS and it can be validated through a Learning Agreement.
The online activities will commence on a date to be determined (TBD) and will be communicated as soon as possible.
All the activities in presence will be organized University of Lulea from 23rd to 27th February, 2026.

BIP Application requirements for Tor Vergata students:
- The academic career will be evaluated as of: October 30th, 2025
- Application deadline is scheduled for: October 30th, 2025 (12.00)
- The academic career to be considered includes the average GPA of the Bachelor's, Master's, and single-cycle degree programs, as well as the final grade of the Master's or single-cycle degree for PhD student.
- Applicants must be enrolled at the University of Rome Tor Vergata in a Bachelor's, Master's, single-cycle degree, or PhD program (either in Italian or in English) at the time of application, and must remain enrolled until March 10th, 2026.
- English language requirement: English B2
- Motivation letter (max. 250 words)
Please note: students who have participated in previous editions of the Arctic Winter School are not eligible to apply for this call.
Students must apply by October 30th, 2025 at 12.00 noon. The results of the call for applications will be published on the website.
