Arctic Winter School
University of Lulea, 3 - 7 March 2025
Tor Vergata University of Rome offers 7 places to enrolled students to spend 5 days in the Swedish University of Lulea!
The project is founded by ERASMUS+ and students from Tor Vergata University of Rome will have a scholarship to cover the costs related to the short-term physical mobility.
All students enrolled in a bachelor, master, single cycle or PhD for the academic year 2024-2025 are eligible for the scholarship.
Programme
Pedagogical project content:
• Environment and society in the changing Arctic. The Arctic Five collaboration.
• Polar atmosphere and its significance for solar-terrestrial interactions, space weather.
• Auroral physics and observations.
• Optical phenomena in the polar regions.
• Snow and ice in different perspectives.
• Arctic climate systems and climate change.
• Nano satellites, rockets and balloons for polar research.
• Survival in the cold environment.
• Space product innovation.
• Language studies: terminology for New Space and polar research.
• Linguistic aspect of intercultural communication.
Each participant will receive an attendance certificate. The course workload is 3 ECTS and it can be validated through a Learning Agreement.
