The female reproductive system, HPV infections and cervical cancer. The breast: benign and malignant neoplasia. Thyroid pathology. The lymphoreticular system and bone marrow. The gastrointestinal system: HP infections, esophageal, gastric and intestinal neoplasia. Inflammatory bowel disease. Tissue transplantations: molecular aspects. Graft vs host disease Biomarkers.     General characteristics of the virus; Classification of viruses: DNA and RNA viruses; Interactions with the host; Molecular aspects of pathogenicity of the virus. Steps of viral replication; Viral Genetics; Methods to study and diagnose viruses. Main classes of viruses of medical interest: Adenovirus, Hepatitis virus (HAV, HBV, HDV, HCV, HEV), Poxvirus, Papovavirus, Parvovirus, Herpesvirus, Picornavirus, Orthomyxovirus, Paramyxovirus, Rhabdovirus, Retrovirus, Reovirus, Togavirus, Flavivirus, Coronavirus, Filovirus. Vaccines, Antiviral drugs. Non-conventional infectious agents: Prions. Conventional and innovative antiviral strategies (antisense, ribozymes). Principles of laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases: pathological materials, transport collection, diagnosis of bacterial infections, direct microscopic examination and culture. Diagnosis of infection by detection of microbial macromolecules. Latex agglutination test. Molecular microbiological diagnostics: Extraction of nucleic acids, hybridization methods, amplification of the hybridization signal, post-amplification detection. Automation in the clinical microbiology laboratory: Automation in serological methods, in bacteriological diagnostics, in the identification of bacteria and antimicrobial assays, in nucleic acid extraction and in nucleic acid amplification methods. Respiratory infections: the main clinical cases, pharyngitis, laryngitis, epiglottis, otitis media, sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, lung abscess, main pathogens. Laboratory diagnosis of upper and lower respiratory tract infections. Infections of the central nervous system: bacterial meningitis, the main pathogens, viral meningitis and polio, encephalitis, brain abscess. Laboratory diagnosis. Infections of the genitourinary system: sexually transmitted disease, gonorrhea, syphilis, venereal ulcer, venereal lymphogranuloma, inguinal granuloma, genital herpes, genital warts, AIDS, multiple etiology clinical syndromes, bacterial vaginosis, urinary tract infections (IVU), pathogens, laboratory diagnosis. Gastrointestinal infection: infections of the stomach and intestines, chronic gastritis and peptic ulcer, diarrhea, dysentery, enteric fever, the main pathogens involved, laboratory diagnosis. Bacteremia, sepsis, the main pathogens, laboratory diagnosis. Infections of the fetus and the newborn: prenatal infections, syphilis, toxoplasmosis, rubella, cytomegalovirus, herpes simplex. Congenital and post-natal infections, main pathogens, laboratory diagnosis. Nosocomial infections, definition, classification, and risk factors, routes of transmission and control.
