This Degree provides knowledge in various fields of Computer Sciences and Information Technology aimed at a conscious system management in both design and development.Students acquire adequate knowledge in basic fields of Computer Science, as well as Mathematics fundamental features and support tools.
The course includes: acquiring the basics of discrete and continuous Physics and Mathematics; knowledge of principles, theoretic models and architecture of computer systems and communications networks; knowledge of the theoretical foundations of Computer Science, the main computational models and language theory; knowledge and use of operating systems; acquiring elements of algorithm analysis and design as well as data structures; acquiring modern methods and programming languages; assimilating the principles needed to design and implement systems for database management and relevant technologies; acquiring design and implementation techniques for computer systems.
A consistent ECTS number is achieved though laboratory classes and tutorials, also via other Degrees.Internships within companies, research bodies, public administration or equivalent project activities are offered. Furthermore, students are encouraged to spend study terms at foreign universities within the framework of international agreements.
Thanks to the pervasiveness of Computer Science in a number of economic activities, the acquired skills are required and applicable in a wide range of contexts. In particular they include:
technical activities in support services for institutional activities in public administration; installation, management and development of information systems; research support within public or private universities or research institutions; design, development, integration, customisation and management of software systems and applications; management of information systems and databases; computer security; support activities to develop and manage infrastructures and services in telecommunications and Internet access; network management for fixed and mobile telecommunications; network management to broadcast radio and television programmes via cable, satellite, terrestrial repeaters; monitoring and management of data transmission networks; provision of Internet access (provider).
