Students acquire solid and broad cultural background on the logical-mathematical foundations of Computer Science; they are fully able to apply the scientific method; they acquire significant computational, mathematical and statistical expertise; they master methods relating to information representation, management, processing and communication characterising Computer Science; they have specific skills to analyse and model complex problems and their solution through computational, mathematical and logic methods; they are able to plan, design, develop and manage working projects; they can estimate, test and safely manage plants and complex or innovative systems to generate, transmit and process information.
Graduates are able to detect new theoretical developments in Computer Science and its application fields. They can also work at project and decision-making levels in all areas of Information Technology and in an international context; they can perform professional activities in different areas, e.g. as freelancers, in companies, service industries and in public administration.
In particular, graduates are able to devise and carry out work planning, design, development, management, estimation, testing, definition of application and security infrastructure on heterogeneous networks. They can manage plants, complex or innovative systems to generate, transmit, retrieve, secure and digitally file documents and information processing with specific reference to multimedia information.
This includes situations involving the use of advanced experimental and innovative methods and in which security, privacy and confidentiality requirements prevail on other technological aspects.
