Tor Vergata School of Engineering
The Department of Civil Engineering and Computer Engineering (DICII) was established in 2012 to unify in an innovative way two fundamental fields of Engineering, the youngest Information Engineering and the oldest Civil Engineering, in order, among other things, to adapt to the future needs the design and management of modern territorial, urban and infrastructural systems.
The initial inspiring idea of the department was based on the principle that the most innovative research can derive above all from a multidisciplinary approach, that is not only able to make researchers coming from different scientific disciplines work together, but also to overcome the rigid barriers imposed by disciplines themselves.
The contamination between the various scientific areas has produced valuable results in a short time: as evidenced by the evaluation of the VQR 2011-2014, which testifies to the scientific excellence of the department.
