Description and Teaching Objectives
A Degree in History of Art provides training in historical-artistic areas covering the widest chronological time frame, both for subject content and methodological foundations of the discipline. This is a particularly valuable educational step to pursue a career protecting and promoting cultural heritage and to effectively carry out high-responsibility tasks in cultural industry areas of historical and artistic interest.
The course offers specific training: it conveys advanced skills of historical and methodological nature in different sectors and areas relating to the figurative art from the Middle Ages to the present day.
Further training objectives include: acquiring theoretical and applied knowledge of the problems relating to management and preservation of a specific artistic sector; analysing specific issues on the history or the preservation of a specific artistic sector; oral and written fluency in at least one European Union language besides Italian with reference to technical lexicon.

Graduates can aspire to high-responsibility functions in specific institutions such as museums and superintendences.
