The degree programme, structured over a three-year period, offers students a differentiated educational pathway, depending on whether they wish to focus primarily on the enhancement of cultural (historical-artistic, literary, etc.) and environmental heritage, or on the management and planning of marketing activities, event organisation and management, and all activities related to the travel industry (such as travel agencies and tour operators), as well as territorial development.
Across all three available tracks—Cultural Tourism, Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Innovation Tourism for Made in Italy—students will have the opportunity to strengthen their IT skills and acquire proficiency in at least two foreign languages.
The programme's educational modules—covering cultural, managerial, and scientific areas—aim to train versatile and adaptable professionals equipped with both theoretical knowledge (cognitive objectives) and practical skills (professional objectives). To support the development of practical competencies, the programme also includes laboratories and internships.
C – INNOVATION TOURISM FOR MADE IN ITALY - The curriculum has been designed to develop professional profiles through an interdisciplinary approach, enabling students to enhance the competencies acquired across various academic fields (including economics, statistics, law, social sciences, territorial studies, history, and the arts). Graduates will be equipped with multifunctional skills and the ability to apply their knowledge to the domain of digital tourism – an innovative and rapidly growing sector that represents a strategic frontier for the broader tourism industry. The program prepares graduates to engage in activities related to the organization and promotion of tourism at the territorial level, which are essential for delivering high-quality services in the sector, with a particular emphasis on sustainability and technological innovation.
The SciTUR Bachelor's Degree Program is offered in a conventional or blended learning format, which includes both in-person and distance learning components.
Students enrolled in the program may follow courses remotely and will find all relevant information within the online learning environment managed by the IaD School—Scuola IaD, the scientific, educational, and service structure of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata.” This unit ensures the methodological and technological expertise required for Distance Education.
Access to the platform is granted approximately five working days after the completion of the enrollment process.
To access the platform, students must use the centralized Uniroma2 login (green button on the right side of the screen), with the same credentials used for the Delphi system (provided by the Student Office upon enrollment in the degree program).
Once logged in, students will see their personal Dashboard, which displays all courses to which they have been automatically enrolled.
The Welcome section contains orientation information and both formal and informal communication spaces, along with a list of active courses available on the platform for each academic year of enrollment. This section also provides specific guidelines for enrolling in individual distance learning courses.
The objective of the degree programme, through both compulsory and elective courses included within various educational areas and differentiated according to the three curricula, is to train professional profiles capable of adding value to companies and institutions operating in the tourism sector.
This is achieved by offering innovative subjects tailored to meet the evolving demands of the labour market. In particular, within the area of Economic and Legal Sciences, students will receive training through courses closely aligned with the professional realities and daily operations of those currently working or intending to work in the tourism sector.
These courses provide targeted knowledge of the economic principles and legal frameworks specifically relevant to the tourism industry. The area of Historical-Social Sciences, Cultural Heritage, and Territory aims to provide students with a solid and foundational cultural background.
Through its course offerings, it simultaneously ensures a degree of specialisation suitable for a variety of professional pathways. The area seeks to equip students with broad-ranging knowledge (including geography, history, sociology, art, literature) and essential skills—such as the ability to connect tourism with globalisation and education systems, to critically assess territorial, social, and technological issues related to tourism development, and to participate in international debates regarding competencies across different domains of the tourism sector.
These learning outcomes are linked to broader global themes such as sustainability, interculturality, and an educational and psychological understanding of the tourism phenomenon.
