Descrizione e obiettivi formativi

Course title: Birth and development of an interdependent world: globalizations compared Program: The course aims to examine the events and problems of the process of growing connection between the different areas of the globe. This will be done by focusing on the two great cycles and models of globalization that follow one another in the contemporary age: first the British-led one, followed by the American-led one. Attention will also be paid to the attempt to propose an alternative globalization conducted within the socialist camp. One section of the course will address the specific theme of how school curricula in Great Britain and the United States explain to the students the role of their country in the globalization process. The topics indicated will be addressed by analyzing the different historiographical interpretations and a series of relevant sources, during the lessons and in seminars with the active participation of the students.
Documentary Theatre and War
The course covers the main institutions of Labour Law and Trade Union Law.
The course leads the student to become familiar with the practical treatment of sound files and their use in the artistic and musical fields. The main topics covered during the course are: - Music composition for Cinema - Sound design for Cinema A series of exercises are planned to teach practically how to make "sound and musical objects" with the methodologies and technologies used in the cinematographic field. They use software for audio processing and the creation of "effects" with immediate application in cinematographic products.
Module B. Opera from the end of XVII Century to the Mozart Era. The origin and the development of instrumental music up to the Mozart Era.
What distinguishes works of art from everyday human artefacts? Does it still make sense to ask this question? The premise of this course is that, yes, a distinction must be made, but to draw a line, it is necessary to have a precise theory of what mediates works of art, i.e. the media on which they appear. The study of leading scholars in aesthetics and art theory will be called upon from year to year to make students aware of the difference between different media and, consequently, between the works of art that can emerge from them. Mastering a medium does not yet mean being able to produce a work of art because this requires, through the use of that medium (or even more than one medium), that a vision of the world appear and, thus, of a form of knowledge in which concepts do not have the last word and, sometimes, not even the first.
