Description and Teaching Objectives
This Degree focuses on training professionals mastering knowledge and application practices in Nursing, as expected from them and provided for in their code of ethics. Graduates in Nursing must be able to perform functions of preventive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative assistance for patients of all ages as employees or freelancers.
In particular, such training focuses on issues related to health promotion and maintenance for individuals and their community - from admission to discharge at both hospital and local level. Further topics include organising care processes designed to ensure continuity of healthcare, safety and risk control in all health and social contexts. Additional study areas cover help and adaptation relationships, programming, implementation and management of clinical care pathways, health education and promotion of preventive action methods and community assistance. Education lays particular emphasis on innovative teaching modes based on self-learning and critical reading to promote and develop nursing research and hence contribute to developing this sector. This Degree aims at training professionals who can contribute to students' and support staff's training as well as update their professional profile. Hence, during their studies students develop psycho-pedagogical skills and research methods.
Course attendance is mandatory for all activities - both theoretical classes and traineeship.
Career Opportunities
A Degree in Nursing enables graduates to practice as healthcare assistants. University qualification is directly recognised in all EU countries and can be validated in most other countries.
Graduate can work as freelancers or as employees both within the Italian National and Regional Health Service and accredited private facilities in Italy and abroad.
