Description and Teaching Objectives
This Degree provides for 120 ECTS and aims at training professionals able to use their advanced skills and act on processes relating to healthcare, management, training, prevention and research in areas relevant to the different health professions included in this class (nursing, midwifery, paediatric nursery). After graduating students shall be able to design, plan, coordinate and implement assistance measures in preventive, curative, palliative and rehabilitative areas. They take into account community needs, the development of new work organisation methods as well as technological and computer innovation by implementing - where possible - telecare and e-learning to match their operational standards to EU ones. They shall be able to propose innovative educational models and contribute to clinical, organisational and pedagogical research with targeted research projects aimed at professional development and growth using the acquired methodological knowledge.
Graduates shall eventually be able to detect and critically evaluate all changing healthcare needs relevant to their specific professional figure. They shall plan, manage, implement and evaluate healthcare services to improve the quality, appropriateness, safety and cost-effectiveness of healthcare systems.
Course attendance is mandatory for all activities - both theoretical classes and traineeship.
Career Opportunities
Graduates in Nursing and Obstetrics can work in healthcare, social and assistance facilities as service managers and coordinators: they can operate as professional leaders to design, implement and develop assistance and innovative research projects as well as reorganise healthcare processes. Furthermore, they can teach in and manage all types of University classes regarding healthcare professions, such as Master Degrees, advanced training courses, refreshers and lifelong learning for support operators etc.
They can also work on clinical and organisational research projects in sectors and areas of professional interest - including multidisciplinary fields.
