Description and Teaching Objectives
This Degree aims at training professionals mastering knowledge, application practices, know-how and with the correct attitude in Paediatric Nursing in preventive, curative, palliative and rehabilitative terms. They can hence perform a technical, relational and educational role through disease prevention, health education and care for the sick and disabled during their developmental age.
In particular, classes cover issues related to: health promotion and maintenance; organisation and continuity of care services; safety and risk control when taking charge; help relationship and adaptation; clinical nursing for infants, children, adolescents; implementation and management of diagnostic and therapeutic pathways as well as the clinical method; education for individuals during their developing age; self-learning and critical reading of source texts.
Course attendance is mandatory for all activities - both theoretical classes and traineeship.
Career Opportunities
This Degree qualifies graduates as Paediatric Nurses, i.e. healthcare operators who: are involved in identifying physical and mental health needs for newborns, children, adolescents, families; plan, carry out and evaluate paediatric nursing interventions; participate in health education interventions within families and communities; perform outpatient care, home care and hospital care for babies and children under 18 suffering from acute and chronic diseases; treat individuals during adolescence under prevention, health and social support programmes; ensure the correct implementation of diagnostic-therapeutic prescriptions.
Graduates can act individually or with health and social operators; if needed, they can be assisted by support staff. They can work in the National and Regional Health Service as well as within accredited private facilities as employees or freelancers.
