This Master Degree in Pharmacy is a 5-year course in English. It aims at providing a scientific basis as well as theoretical and practical competences to work as a pharmacist, i.e. a professional with expertise in drugs and health products in relevant sectors (cosmetics, dietary and nutritional supplements, herbal products, diagnostic and chemical-clinical products, medical devices, sanitary ware, etc.).
The course consists of theoretical and practical classes, including training activities in a local or hospital pharmacy.
Besides specific training classes, the course is enhanced by further medical subjects (e.g. Dermatopharmacology, Internal Medicine and Nutrition Sciences) and regulatory processes (e.g. Italian and European Pharmaceutical Law, Commercial Law).
All subjects are completed with lectures, workshops, e-Learning sessions by national and international experts. Furthermore, meetings at companies or pharmaceutical industries are organised within the framework of supplementary activities. Thanks to an agreement with the University of Nottingham, every year some scholarship calls for internships there are issued.
In this spirit the University adhered to the Erasmus project and examinations can be passed abroad.
The main objective is to train professionals mastering a scientific basis as well as theoretical and practical competences to work as pharmacists. They shall work as professionals with expertise in drugs and health products in relevant sectors (medical devices, sanitary ware, cosmetics, dietary supplements, herbal products, diagnostic and chemical-clinical products etc.).
Pharmacist in the health sector, industrial preparation of pharmaceutical forms in drugs, drug control in public and private laboratories, production and control of medical devices, assessment and technical writing of pharmaceutical dossiers to authorise new medicines to be marketed, pharmacovigilance, information and advice in sectors such as drugs, cosmetics, dietary and nutritional supplements.
