Description and Teaching Objectives
This Degree trains operators with the knowledge and skills needed to carry out their activities through prevention, treatment and rehabilitation interventions for motility, higher cortical and visceral functions resulting from pathological events.
Students must acquire the scientific basics and theoretical-practical preparation needed to understand biological and hereditary phenomena, major organ and apparatuses functioning, as well as psychological, social and environmental aspects. Moreover, they shall be aware of: the evolution of their profession, key rehabilitation concepts and methods of personal care services; the basics of rehabilitation care as well as its theoretical and conceptual models; the principles and rules defining a Physiotherapist's field of activity and responsibility; ethical, legal and medical principles covering their job.
Course attendance is mandatory for all activities - both theoretical classes and traineeship.
Career Opportunities
This Degree qualifies graduates as Physiotherapists, i.e. healthcare operators who can work in national or regional health facilities as well as in credited private facilities; they can operate as freelancers or as employees. Graduates in Physiotherapy follow medical prescriptions and define a rehabilitation plan to identify and solve disabled people's health issues via therapeutic activities aimed at functional rehabilitation of motor, psychometric and cognitive disabilities.
