Description and Teaching Objectives
This Degree trains students as dentists and enables them to acquire the methodological basics of scientific research.
Access is regulated through an entry test organised annually according to National Programming. The entry test deals with questions on general knowledge, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
Teaching includes lectures, professional training, tutorials, elective classes, English course. Class attendance is mandatory and checked by lecturers via methods established by the relevant Council.
At the end of the their studies graduates in Dentistry must pass a State Exam in order to practise as dentists.
Career Opportunities
Graduates gain specific expertise in the field of Restorative Dentistry, Periodontics, Implants, Orthodontics, Oral Surgery, Special Pathology in Oral Surgery, Paediatric Dentistry and Oral Surgery Clinic. They can immediately fit into employment at private multi-speciality practices, within public facilities as consultants or work as freelance professionals.
In order to improve teaching quality and encourage employment, the University has signed two important scientific-cultural agreements with the Medical and Dental Association of Rome and with ANDI ROME Trade Union (Associazione Nazionale Dentisti Italiani - National Association of Italian Dentists).
Thanks to such agreements several initiatives have been implemented - not only from a cultural viewpoint, but from a union perspective too: Dentistry students can hence be trained and enabled to deal with the Institutions they will become acquainted with after graduating.
Furthermore, this Degree prepares students to manage emergencies within dental practices.
Dentistry graduates can also access a wide choice of post-graduate training courses.
