You are warmly invited to this workshop on ESA’s Civil Security from Space (CSS) programme. The purpose of the workshop is to give updated information on the CSS programme, and its vision of creating a federated network of space-enabled security and crisis response solutions – the SERENITY network.
The workshop will be focused on industry and present progress and ongoing activities supporting the development of this Network and the next steps to build it up and to identify potential collaborating missions. The Workshop aims to inspire collaborations to build the network and to bring solutions more quickly to users in the spheres of civil security and crisis management.
The CSS Programme is founded on the principle of partnering with all types of players in civil security and crisis management. This includes government and public institutions, commercial entities, first responders, civil society, and industry providing solutions. As such Partners Groups (for Industry developing solutions, and for Users of such solutions) have been established to foster engagement and opportunity creation.
These groups are intended to support coordination and collaboration to develop CSS projects and, going beyond, build the SERENITY network embarking all “good will” solutions, as well as to boost the engagement of users in such projects – matching user needs with solutions developed by industry, thus closing the gap between supply and demand.
For the purpose of this WS, focus will be put on the Industry Association (CSS-IA), meant to foster a collaborative spirit between solution providers, where the concepts of interoperability and compatibility are nurtured, and leading towards the SERENITY 2035 vision of a federation of space systems, which all contribute to addressing the challenges of security and crisis management on Earth.
The leaders of the CSS projects will be asked to give a 5-8 minutes pitch on their project.
Those having an available “solution” (constellation, service…) that could join the network are invited to give a 5 minutes pitch
