Information on stay permit for international students
The Italian law establishes that non-EU citizens residing in Italy for more than three months, with a visa different than the tourist one, are required to promptly apply for a stat permit within 8 working days from their arrival in the country.
To begin the process, the student must take the kit for the residency permit application, which is available at post offices. The Welcome Office p rovides applicants with assistance in filling in the application form and offers guidance on the subsequent steps of the process, ensuring a smooth and efficient procedure.
Once the application form is fully completed, the student has to deliver it to a post office along with:
- a copy of each passport’s page;
- a copy of the health insurance (either the SSN or a private insurance);
- a copy of the Acceptance Letter received by the University;
- a copy of the Fiscal Code;
- 1 Revenue Stamp (Marca da Bollo) € 16. You can buy it in the tobacco shop;
