Beatrice Proietti won the scholarship dedicated to STEM subjects.
Beatrice Proietti, a student in the Computer Engineering degree program at the Tor Vergata University of Rome, is the winner of the fifth edition of "Amazon Women in Innovation" a scholarship promoted and funded by Amazon to support and encourage young female university students passionate about STEM subjects.
The deserving young woman, along with the winners from the other five Italian universities involved in Amazon's initiative, will receive a funding of €6,000 for the academic year 2022/23, with the possibility of renewal for the following two years, as well as the support of a mentor, an Amazon manager who can help her develop skills useful for future work, such as techniques for creating an effective resume or preparing for a job interview.
The scholarship is part of the "Amazon in the Community" program and aims to help young female students in STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) succeed in the digital economy and serve as examples for many other girls who want to pursue these fields of study.
In addition to "Tor Vergata," the Italian universities that have participated in the initiative are the University of Cagliari, Politecnico di Milano, the University of Naples Federico II, the University of Palermo, and Politecnico di Torino.
