Description and Teaching Objectives
A Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism Sciences trains students in specific tourism disciplines (European and International Law, Labour Law, Economics and Business Management, etc.). It conveys technical skills (such as Adaptability, Problem Solving, Revenue Management, Web and Social Media Marketing, Food & Beverage Management, etc.) as well as communication skills (Leadership, Team Building, etc.) and provides for qualifying internships at permanent and mobile structures of tourism hospitality (hotels, cruise ships, SPAs, resorts, etc.), public and private institutions and bodies in charge of policies and activities in terms of planning, promotion and implementation of tourist events.
This Degree offers basic training in Economics, Geography, Anthropology, Sociology, Humanities and Law in relation to sector interdependence of tourism with cultural heritage, environment, gastronomy and transport with particular attention to national incoming.
Such educational system allows students and industry operators to acquire and strengthen cultural and professional tools for the planning, management and promotion of incoming tourism, with particular reference to cultural tourism. Moreover, this includes useful knowledge and skills to operate in a flexible and versatile way within local and communication networks with particular reference to cultural tourism, as well as cultural and professional tools for the planning and management of tourist hospitality companies.
This Degree provides lectures and seminars - both in person and online - completed by teaching activities focusing on the professional and working expectations of the participants within the different business segments relating to the organisation and management of public bodies and tourism companies.
Career Opportunities
Graduates will be able to use the skills acquired in the fields of Economics, Statistics, Law, Humanities, History, Art and subjects relating to local areas in order to operate in tourism and within different types of accommodation facilities.
Graduates can work as: experts in analysis of cultural resources for tourism and cultural tourism; experts in the organisation, management and evaluation of services for tourism and cultural tourism; experts in the organisation and management of tourist packages for sustainable and ecofriendly tourism; experts in the organisation and management of events and cultural events for tourism; experts in communication of local archaeological, historical, artistic and literary resources for tourism.
