Tor Vergata School of Humanities
The Department of Literary, Philosophical and Art History Studies (acronym: ALEF), established on November 1st, 2015, arose from the need to enhance and re-launch humanistic studies and, at the same time, to renew them profoundly both as regards the interaction with the scientific and technological research, and the comparison between different cultures and traditions in an increasingly interconnected world.
The Department has joined professors and researchers coming not only from the School of Letters, but also from the Schools of Law and Economics. Therefore, the Department has the ambition to contribute significantly to the development of new approaches, both in research and education, characterized by strong interdisciplinarity, international openness, and creativity, combining the solidity of traditional methods of human sciences with a fully intercultural and transdisciplinary perspective.
