CBMS - Centre for Space Biomedicine

The Centre for Space BioMedicine (CSB) at the University of Rome Tor Vergata brings together expertise in biomedical and life sciences to investigate how the human body and nervous system interact with the unique conditions associated with spaceflight. The Centre is part of Tor Vergata's wider multidisciplinary activity in space research.
Its research includes areas related to human physiology, neuroscience, sensorimotor control and gravitational physiology, with particular attention to how humans perceive, move and adapt under altered gravitational conditions. Research associated with the Centre also covers vestibular function, balance and neuromotor physiology, creating links between space biomedicine and applications relevant to health on Earth.
The Centre contributes to Tor Vergata's broader space ecosystem alongside other university centres working on areas such as space sustainability and engineering for space applications, encouraging interdisciplinary research and collaboration with the national and European space sector.
